"It's riveting reading, a compelling memoir for baby boomers!"

Many baby boomers lost loved ones in one war or another and many have in their possessions diaries or letters through which to remember the loved ones. Most keep the words of the deceased in a safe place; many probably don't re-read them because of the pain it can cause.

My courageous friend Karen Epp decided to face the pain and share her brother's words with today's world. Her book contributes to the growing number of memoirs from the sixties and puts a face on  one of the numbers those of us living during that time heard about on the nightly news. Karen's own words and those of some of the men who served with Stan create a full picture of the war and the era. It's riveting reading for high school students, a compelling memoir for baby boomers, and tribute to a boy who gave all.
